Nitesh on difficulties to remake Amar Akbar Anthony, Deewaar

Acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari is currently gearing up for the release of his ambitious project, "Ramayana," an adaptation of the ancient Indian epic. The film boasts a stellar cast, including Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. The first part of this two-part series is slated for release in 2026, with the second following in 2027.

In a recent conversation, Tiwari shared insights into his admiration for classic 1970s Bollywood films and the challenges associated with remaking them in today's cinematic landscape. He expressed a particular fondness for "Amar Akbar Anthony" and "Deewar," noting their enduring appeal. However, he acknowledged the difficulties in recreating such classics, stating, "I would like to remake 'Amar Akbar Anthony' or 'Deewar,' but I don't think I can cast for it today. Our actors won't get ready. In today's time, it is very difficult to make 'Amar Akbar Anthony' or 'Deewar.

Tiwari's reflections highlight a broader conversation within the film industry about the complexities of remaking iconic films. Factors such as evolving audience sensibilities, contemporary cultural contexts, and the challenge of meeting or surpassing the original's impact contribute to the intricacies of such endeavors. Moreover, aligning the visions of modern actors with roles that carry historical significance adds another layer of complexity.
